07/06/2012 00:00 In the Wheelhouse Today we are trying to offer all of the contributors to the DahlCast something that they really love talking about and the result is one awesome Friday show.  We begin our self-gratification by discussing Steve’s love of JoJo “Cookin’” Kincaid in his younger years. As an older JoJo he just doesn’t have the same appeal, but he makes Steve laugh just the same. We then move to the area of R.A.P. (for extra emphasis) where Brendan Greeley gets to show off his knowledge of this musical genre. Brendan enjoys the “special beat” of a song that helps pay tribute to a late president. Dag is on the road with his band, Expo ’76, so we invited Joe Gaspar, a.k.a (for extra emphasis) Frijole Joe, to sit in Dag’s spot on the world’s most comfortable couch. We talk bikes, bike paths and more with the man who helps Steve feel better about calling a man “guapo” last week. Dino and Buzz both call in and each get to talk about subjects that are near and dear to their hearts.  Dino talks self-loathing and ruined fireworks displays and Buzz talks Zombies, baths, Jamaica and his latest musical discovery. We sincerely hope that today’s show is right in your wheelhouse. It most certainly was in ours.  Have a great weekend! Steve Dahl, Buzz Kilman, Brendan Greeley, Dino, Chicago podcasts, DahlCast, Steve Dahl Network, best podcast, Joe Gaspar
04/18/2012 07:41 Today’s DahlCast is rated R for violence, strong language, graphic music and bestiality, but it’s all in the name of pure, uncensored comedy. We kicked off the show by talking about the “Hit Heard Round the World” on Hossa in last night’s Hawks game.  Matt Dahl and Steve were already calling for Torres’ suspension before the big announcement of his indefinite suspension today. Dag Juhlin is in the DahlCast studio to play some live music with the Stever.  Dag and Steve give us a taste of the music and comedy you will hear at the Park West and play Aloha Friday and Tropical Drink Song live! Tami Sagher (“How I Met Your Mother” writer/producer) joins us to revisit the Floridiots and Dag plays the theme song live!  This Floridiot is particularly disturbing and something that only the DahlCast can cover in its entirety.  We really are serious about the uncensored content, and we do it in the most hilarious way possible! Steve Dahl, Kevin Matthews, Ed Silha, How I Met Your Mother, Dag Juhlin, Steve Dahl Network, best podcast, Top rated podcast
04/17/2012 00:00 It’s Tax Day and we are discussing how your hard-earned money was spent by some of the fine, upstanding men of the secret service. Are they complete amateurs? Did they really get caught “pleying” because of one guy and $47? Even Hillary Clinton seems to have better party and guy code skills than these idiots. Between the GSA, the Secret Service and heads of state like Burlesconi, your dollars (pesos, etc.) just aren’t safe in the hands of any government today. Hope you got your tax refund early this year. Roe Conn is our guest today and he and Steve discuss the status of public radio in Chicago and Steve’s upcoming interview at WBEZ. Roe is a little hurt that Steve is cheating on him, but hopes that Steve can survive without the constant interruption of Traffic on the 5s. On the DahlCast today you get a full 2 hours of entertainment, not the 15 minutes per hour that radio offers. Spend your refund from the government on the Steve Dahl Network and watch your money actually work for you! Steve Dahl, Roe Conn, Hillary Clinton, WLS, Brendan Greeley, NPR, WBEZ, Drew Peterson, Barack Obama, Steve Dahl Network, best podcast, 888-GOB-HOMO, Top rated podcast, Pete Zimmerman, Columbia, Secret Service, Shuttle Discovery
04/16/2012 00:00 Set sail today with a DahlCast full of sports, weather, news and information you just can’t hear anywhere else. Tom Thayer fills us in on the first day of the NFL work season. Halas hall is buzzing with the players that will actually pull their weight this year. And with the draft right around the corner, he has some good opinions on what the Bears need to do to start their year off right. The Phoenix Coyotes’ Shaw was crusin’ for a bruisin’ with after his over-the-top theatrics in Game 2 against our Hawks. Steve thought it was very appropriate that he had just watched the new Seann William Scott movie, Goon, about a true fighter in Minor League Hockey. Phil Rosenthal, from the Chicago Tribune, joined Steve to talk about the awesome twitter feed from @RealTimeTitanic over the weekend, the status of Chicago’s newspapers and the infamous “Other Phil Rosenthal”. Cruisewear is optional for today’s show, but don’t forget to meet us on the Lido Deck for the very important safety drills Roger Dahl, Steve Dahl, Chicago Bears, Tom Thayer, NFL draft, Chicago Blackhawks, Bruce Springsteen, Tupac Shakur, Brendan Greeley, Wrigley Field, Chicago White Sox, flooding, Maui, Chicago Tribune, Steve Dahl Network, best podcast, 888-GOB-HOMO, Top rated podcast, Pete Zimmerman, Phil Rosenthal, Coachella, Goon, hologram, Mike Smith, NHL playoffs, storms, Titanic
04/14/2012 00:00 It's time for another Descent into the Archives. This week we remember the late, great Sam Kinison, who died 20 years ago last week. Sam was a regular guest on show throughout the years and he was always insane and edgy, even when working under FCC constraints. This is another can't miss Descent. Steve Dahl, Garry Meier, The Loop, best podcast, Top rated podcast, Descent into the Archives, Sam Kinison, Steve Dah Network
04/13/2012 21:59 Happy Home Opener to the White Sox! We kicked off an action-packed Friday DahlCast with Brendan live from The Cell. He made some friends in the parking lot, but don’t ask any of us which parking lot it was we don’t have a clue. The tailgate talk sparked some lively conversation about the origin of the word Koozie and we learned that our own Stephanie has one that says “1 Love Boobies”. We love boobies, too, but who doesn’t really? Buzz Killman called and we learned that he is fighting hard to avoid the “Twitterverse” even though it would help him fill the audience at his Monday shows at the Underground Wonderbar. Buzz also gives us his take on some recent Human Centipede 3 controversy and helps us understand the meaning of the word “Broasted”. Where else but the DahlCast can you learn so much in just one show? Not radio, that’s for sure. Radio can only offer you ads and “Traffic on the 5s”. The DahlCast can offer you so much more each and every day. Your time is way more valuable than to be filled by information you can get from any smartphone or GPS. Let us show you how we value that time, won’t you? Have a great weekend, everyone! Steve Dahl, Buzz Kilman, Brendan Greeley, KFC, Chicago White Sox, Human Centipede, Steve Dahl Network, best podcast, 888-GOB-HOMO, Top rated podcast, Pete Zimmerman, US Cellular, Opening Day, beer koozies, Colonel Sanders, Dave Thomas
04/12/2012 45:30 Is that the smell of meat from a Weber kettle or the smell of Weber meeting Zetterberg in last night’s game? We’re not sure, but Steve thinks Jenny McCarthy got her fair share of meat with Brian Urlacher at Mastro’s L.A. the other night. They might be the hot new celebrity couple, but Jenny is really past her prime. After all, Steve was her very first interview when she first made it into Playboy, so he should know what she looked like before she was dry-aged. The DahlCast is exploding with callers today. We have ESPO1 who announces that the all-new Steve Dahl Network Android App is ready and will be released in the next day or two. Pat Boyle calls in to talk playoff hockey, baseball and the overall awesomeness of the Chicago sports scene right now. We finish he show today by talking to Matt Hansel. He’s a network subscriber and will be a C2E2 this weekend offering free sketches to subscribers. Visit him at booth P-8 in artists’ alley. He is excited to meet all of you subscribers (you get a free sketch!) and anyone who isn’t a subscriber, if you sign up there, you get a free sketch, too! 04/11/2012 00:00 Fighting, sports and creepy news…today’s DahlCast has it all. White Sox play-by-play announcer Ed Farmer joins Steve today to discuss the Ozzie Guillen mess in Miami. Ed is also going to help Steve plan a “Castro Demolition” event at the new Marlins park. The helmet and jacket are dusted off and ready to go… Speaking of the White Sox, their new skipper had an infamous fight with Nolan Ryan in ’93 and he has appeared to get his temper under check as he leads the charge for the boys from the South Side. Hearing the down and dirty details of this fight on the DahlCast will offer you a brand new perspective on the Sox coach. How I Met Your Mother writer and producer Tami Sagher also joins us and helps Steve work through some of the more creepy and disgusting stories we’ve heard in a while. Including learning that Pete is officially stalking her and may be collecting her extracted teeth. We really aren’t kidding when we say we offer you uncensored entertainment. Weird, dirty and groundbreaking…nothing is ever off-limits on our show. Happy Hump Day! 04/10/2012 07:22 It’s Tell-A-Friend Tuesday and we hope that you are getting out there to spread the word about the Steve Dahl Network! It’s exactly 100 years to the day since the Titanic set sail on its doomed voyage. Today on the DahlCast, the Ozzie Guillen press conference helps us remember that “loose lips sink ships”. The Marlins are all over plugging the Ozzie hole and have suspended him for 5 games. Steve is not convinced that Ozzie should be punished for just expressing his opinion, but can understand why the city of Miami may be ready to press him like a Cuban sandwich. 04/09/2012 00:00 It’s Monday on the DahlCast and Tom Thayer calls in with a story that should really embarrass Mark Sanchez – another DahlCast exclusive. Tom is also anxiously awaiting the arrival of Roger Dahl to the islands, and has already started to prep the ladies for a Dahl to arrive. Lock up those Hula girls! The big story today is Matt Dahl’s bachelor party weekend in Nashvegas. The boys and Steve had a crazy weekend full of music, beer and really bad strip clubs…no nudity and a 3-foot rule? Not exactly the kind of setup a Steve Dahl and company expect when celebrating a “fallen soldier”. Listen to the show and find out why a gal named Barbie is likened to Spider-Man and who got kicked out of the strip club. Pictures from the weekend are streaming in and maybe, just maybe, you will get to see our own Brendan Greeley, or “Grease”, shirtless and having a “Grand Ole Time” in Nashville. Only on our podcasts, can you get the full story of a guy’s trip to Nashville, without any of the dirty parts edited out. Wish we could say the same for the strippers in that town. Happy Monday! chicago cubs, Steve Dahl, Nashville, Kate Upton, Tom Thayer, Pat Dahl, Chicago Blackhawks, Miami, Brendan Greeley, NHL, Ozzie Guillen, Maui, Steve Dahl Network, best podcast, 888-GOB-HOMO, Top rated podcast, Pete Zimmerman, Fidel Castro, Mark Sanchez, strip clubs
