NadalCast
I’m getting ready to switch off of Fort Hood coverage and lose myself in a Blackhawks game on Comcast SportsNet. Early on in the coverage of he massacre at Ft. Hood, I said that I thought that it seemed like terrorism. As of this blogging there is nothing to indicate that it is anything but a mental health professional snapping (the guy’s name doesn’t help, however). Whatever the reason, it’s bad. Maj. Nidal Hasan was a doctor and a U.S. soldier who posted crazy things about the war and suicide bombings on the Internet. Don’t we have people looking for red flags like that? I guess it’s hard to find someone like that even when he or she is complaining about being deployed to Iraq, right on base at Fort Hood and right under your freaking nose. I guess he just wanted the free military education.Who knew there'd be two wars in the Middle East in 2009.\
The coverage by Fox News seemed to be the most ethical with Sheppard smith refusing to give Major Hasan’s name until the Pentagon confirmed it. Sheppard Smith does a pretty good job with the news. He is far better than anyone on CNN, especially the guy with the Google Maps and the magic video touch screen. That guy is flat out irritating. Why do I need to know the physical layout of Fort Hood? The most ironic thing that happened on Thursday was President Obama speaking to a group of Native Americans about the slaughter of the US 1st Cavalry. I know it’s too soon for something like that to be funny, and I’m really not trying to make a joke. I just thought it was odd, and wanted to point it out.
Well, enough about all of that bad stuff for a while. I’m going to get ready for some exciting Chicago Blackhawks hockey. Don’t forget that Tom Thayer will be joining me for Friday’s DahlCast, as he exchanged slots with Jeff Joniak this week. I’m kind of concerned about the Cardinals coming into town and dashing all of my football hopes. I’m hoping that Tom has something to ay that will calm me down. Either that, or he can break into his Dick Stanfel impersonation. That always seems to cheer me up. One last thing about Ft. Hood: If Dr. Hasan is any indication of the quality of psychiatric care that we are giving our troops, we need to rethink that. He was stationed at the largest U.S. Army base in the world.

Comment about the web page.
Comment about the web page. Progress - okay. But it's abit over engineered. I was happy with the old Chevy - no need for a Benz. That's my $0.02 worth. I finally re-registered and tried to enter a comment using rich text. I had to drop that and use standard text. My iFone locked on rich text. It never asked me for my password. That kinda bothered me. Also I see no 'cancel' option for comments you want to drop B4 you submit. I liked the old comment tool better. With all that said Ed's been very helpful and patient with this old fan. Thanks Ed. Much appreciated. RD
Steve, I agree, Shep Smith

Tom Thayer is awesome.
Tom Thayer is awesome. Nothing like drving to work, listening to him do Stanfel and I'm pulling up to crowded 4-way stop - I'm laughing my butt off and people are looking at me like I'm crazed.
